It is also highly customisable and there are many different options available, so whatever you need from Traffolyte engraving processes, it is possible to achieve high quality tags and labels through a highly efficient process. Various different products can be created in this way, which are practical, safe and suited to their various industries. Many of the products that can be produced through Traffolyte engraving are used for safety purposes, such as protection signs and danger or fire signs. These can make working environments safer and are very important – for this reason, Traffolyte engraving can... Read More »

Design Engineering: What You Should Know

Design engineering is a field that is a distinctive aspect of engineering as it combines engineering and design principles successfully. These highly skilled design engineers are a part of a design team that consists of drafters and mechanical or lead civil or engineers. Their meticulous training means they are not only good at generating new ideas and discovering problems early but can solve the problems promptly. With the significant amount of training and work experience accomplished by certified design engineers, they may be asked to create blueprints that can be translated into working structures with only very broad orders or direct conceptual frameworks. A design engineer creates the initial schematics and blueprints for various systems, structures, machines or equipment. They are fundamentally vital to any engineering process as they consider... How to Choose the Size of a Nitrogen Generator

For companies that rely on compressed gas to operate the machines, on-site generation of gas is more economical and a good strategy to cut costs. Once you choose nitrogen generation around your business premises, you will need to choose the generator that is most appropriate for you. The generator should keep your business operating efficiently, and make sure you get all the benefits of generating nitrogen in your premises instead of any other place. If you buy your generator from professional suppliers, they will be able to recommend the best type of generator for your business. You will need to give them information that will be crucial in them recommending the generator for you.

Selecting the Right Design Partner

Choosing the right design partner is not an easy thing since it involves making a big decision. The future of your business depends on whether you made the right choice or a wrong one. If you get it wrong, then it is frustrating, damaging and costly to your business. When you are looking into design engineering, you are essentially seeking inventiveness, and  it’s necessary for the substantial enhancement of what you have planned. Do not rush into making decisions that are very crucial and delicate. The tips below are designed to guide you make the selection process easy. Ensure that your selection criteria is clear Have clear selection criteria organised before you begin putting down the names of the prospective design partners around you. This will not only make the... Read More »

Engineering Degrees – What You Need to Know

Engineering courses are extremely popular, and that’s because there are so many different niches to specialise in, including mechanical engineering, computer engineering, architectural engineering and online engineering among others. With each of these courses, you have to understand that they’re going to be very analytical, with a lot of focus on mathematical and scientific knowledge. This is reflected in the requirements, which is usually A to B grades in at least two science (or science-related subjects) and mathematics. Of course, there will also be a lot of hands on design and experimentation, and that’s why engineering courses are so diverse. You could be writing an essay on theorists one day and building your own device the next, and that’s more than enough to keep aspiring engineers engaged throughout their studies.... Read More »

Common Air Compressor Problems and How to Deal with them

Air compressors are very useful machines that turn power generated by an electric motor into pressurised air the pressurised has several applications. Just Like all machines, compressors occasionally experience faults that cause undesirable operation, or in extreme cases, complete failure. At such desperate times, you need to have it checked by a specialized technician. There are however, certain problems that you can handle on your own, especially the faults that involve identifying and replacing the failed air compressor parts. However, always keep in mind that the pressurised tank poses a huge hazard if ruptured. All complex repairs that involve tampering with the pressure line should only be handled, preferably by skilled professionals. Compressor Does Not Turn on When you compressor does not turn on even when plugged in, the most... Read More »

Injection Moulding Engineering

Injection moulding is a widely used manufacturing technique, and in simple terms, it’s injecting material into a mould. Most of these products are made by engineers, and you’ll often see this technique used in the manufacturing of cars, while advances in 3D printing have benefited moulding of lower temperature thermoplastics. There are many possibilities with injection moulding and engineers can create a dynamic range of shapes, but everyday products like bottle caps, packaging and automotive dashboards are formed by injection moulding. It’s a form of engineering which requires specialist skill, and a detailed understanding on thermoplastics and how they work. It must be said that while the industry is changing, the techniques used are too, but the basic principles apply and this form of engineering will continue to be used... Read More »

Civil Engineering – Improving Public Services and Facilities

Civil engineering is all about improving public services and facilities, and the work of these engineeres is clear to see on a daily basis. The bus or train station you visit the coffee you drink in the morning and the car park you use when you go shopping has all had some input from civil engineers. They’re essentially working to make out lives easier and it’s up to them to help the country save money, using sustainable energy to design and build everyday products, bridges, roads, railways, and tunnels. Without civil engineers there would be lack of caution in society, perhaps no constant supply of fresh water and energy, and that’s why it’s one of the most popular areas of engineering. There are many good career prospects with civil engineering,... Read More »

The Discipline of Engineering and the Lack of Training

According to the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Engineering companies need to stop expecting young ‘oven-ready’ employees, and start offering more training opportunities. IET’s 2014 report states that almost half of the employers interviewed said new recruits’ skill levels didn’t meet reasonable expectations and the IET says that it is the employers who are partly to blame. The majority of the employers also noticed a shortage of new engineers. Specialist skills often need time to perfect and new engineers will only begin to perfect those skills when they gain working experience, and there definitely needs to be opportunities out there. On a more positive note, apprentices are on the rise and hopefully these young engineers will get more working opportunities in the future when their apprenticeships come to a close.

What’s Corrosion Engineering?

Well, corrosion is everything to do with cracking, brittle fractures and erosion and it’s the job of a corrosion engineer to manage the effects of corrosion. They use their scientific knowledge and a natural and physical understanding to form structures that are designed to withstand or perhaps even prevent corrosion. It’s an extremely niche sector of engineering but it’s something that is ever-present and there-is more need for corrosion-free structures than ever before. Various career opportunities are out there for those that specialise in corrosion, including engineers, scientists and researchers. The fact of the matter is corrosion is destructive, and there are serious consequences of corrosion and more people are aware of the need for prevention in products, machines and equipment. Different products and structures require different ways of dealing... Read More »
